Shane Lewis is the principal photographer of Presence Photography. For many years, his 'proper' jobs in the research and business areas of science and technology prevented him from doing his 'real' job - photography. So he set-up Presence Photography to give him the veneer of 'working'. In fact, he enjoys every moment of it! Particularly the collaborative process with his clients.

For me the challenge of photography to be one of reducing an image to its essentials, where a painter starts with a blank canvas and adds to it to get the final image, a photographer starts with an image and frames and crops till he/she gets to the image that they seek.

The challenge I enjoy most is to reduce the beauty,history and atmosphere of an event or place down to a single frame.
